Since 1982, the Carter Thor Studio has been working to help actors, writers, directors, producers, and artists of many disciplines to mine, define, and refine their crafts.

Founded by Cameron Thor and Alice Carter following their work with legendary coach Roy London, the studio has been home to such actors including Christina Applegate, David Arquette, Drew Carey, Cameron Diaz, Faye Dunaway, Jewel, Chris Klein, Wentworth Miller, Seth Rogan, Johnathon Schaech, Sylvester Stallone, Gwen Stefani, Sharon Stone, Jonathan Taylor Thomas, Tom Welling.

 

Carter Thor Studios moves into the new millennium with a new partnership with Jock MacDonald forming Carter Thor Studios East.  Jock coaches weekly classes in Toronto, Montreal and Boston.  Thor East has been home to such actors as Rhea Akler, Brittany Allen, John Bregar, Albert Chan, Sasha Clements, Rebecca Davis, Maria Del Mar, Darrell Dennis, Megan Fahlenbock, Wes French, Miranda Handford, Emily Hurson, Alex Karzis, Mike Lobel, Nicole Leroux, Andrea Lui, Husein Madhavji, Jen Raven, Jamie Spilchuk, Regan Thiel and many more.

 

The future is bright for the Studio and its members, with national and international seminars, a new Studio in Vancouver, and a tape and book series. With all this focused expansion, the classes at the Studio remain intimate and intense, never betraying their original purpose. And while the breadth, reach, and size of the Studio has changed considerably in the last ten years, the philosophy that made the Studio so successful to begin with has not; the future belongs to the Artists. They are our Creative Heroes. Training them to be the best at what they do is the Carter Thor Studio’s deepest pleasure and highest purpose.
